I knew sleep was important, but I didn’t know how directly losing sleep can impact your appetite. Losing one hour of sleep a day caused groups tested to eat an average of 200 calories more the next day! That’s the equivalent of a bagel or two scoops of ice cream.
Researchers found that the sleepy group also ate more fat. On average, the sleepy group ate 6g of fat and 32 grams of carbohydrate, that’s the equivalent of a teaspoon of butter and 100g of spaghetti.
So should you really skip that hour of sleep to get to the gym? Maybe not, or perhaps do .. but make sure you go to sleep an hour earlier.
Get your sleep!
