Coconut and brown sugar oatmeal


This tastes delicious and is a great take on simple oatmeal.

The coconut along with the complex carbohydrates in the oatmeal will release sugars slowly into your bloodstream throughout the day. This will help to minimize hunger. Important if you want to lose weight.

Start by cooking your oatmeal.

Prepare your toppings. These are coconut, raisins, chopped nuts and brown sugar. Allow your guests or family to put as many toppings as they wish. They get to dress their own oatmeal, according to their tastes.

  1. Another idea is if you cook your oatmeal with coconut milk, sweetened or unsweetened, depending how you like it. Cook it with the coconut milk beverage drink that comes in a carton. Then sprinkle with chocolate chips and blueberries and/or raspberries.

    1. Yes indeed, winters here but, truth be told, I eat oatmeal in the summer too. You just reminded me of a blog I can do.lol. My children wouldn’t eat anyone’s oatmeal but mine growing up. I did use cinnamon, and have dropped in vanilla after its done cooking too. I have recently tried adding coconut milk halfway through cooking. Yummy! Thankyou for posting this.it is definitely healthier than the high fructose corn syrups in all cereals! ๐Ÿ™‚ happy eating!
