Chemicals in our air, food and beauty products can lead to allergies or sickness. Remember that we take in what’s in our environment, bring it into our bodies, and use it to metabolize. So why not keep it natural?
Scents affect us, they can determine mood. I love walking into a room that smells beautiful, comfortable and clean. One option is to gently simmer natural herbs or citrus for an hour to purify and gently scent your air.
We already know the health benefits of lemon.
For mine, I brought these ingredients in a pot to boil and then reduced to a simmer:
- 2 cups water
- Lemon pieces
- Two drops lemongrass essential oil
- Fennel seeds
- 1 teaspoon black pepper corns
- Pure vanilla extract
- Fresh rosemary
- Mint leaves
- Cinnamon sticks
- Flower petals
According to studies, most people prefer lemon or herb smells over cookie-type home scents.
